STUDIO 880 PARTY
Studio 880, Oakland, December 11th: So this is how the big boys record. It was the Studio 880 party and did they ever put on a hell of a party. Two hours before I got there I was thinking of every excuse in the book not to go, but all those doubts of a boring party were eliminated when I rolled up. This place is amazingly huge; I have never seen studios like this in my life. From one studio to the next - top of the line everything. Huge drum rooms, piano rooms, vocal rooms, you name it and they have it here.

And oh yeah - the party - catered food, an open bar, and celebrities (Mike and Billie Joe of Green Day) were there. I guess Green Day just finished up some new recordings in Studio 880 last month along with the legend Iggy Pop himself as well as the Lifesavas (produced by Blackalicious). Not too shabby. It's no wonder this place is so popular, not only do you have a world-class studio you get all the extras. I mean the lounge room is bigger than my house, and then you have the full kitchen, bathrooms, bars, slot car racing, and basketball. It seriously is like an amusement park.
